Dharamshala International Film Festival is India's leading independent cinema festival, celebrating diverse voices in documentary filmmaking and independent cinema. Held annually in the scenic Himalayan town of Dharamshala, DIFF brings together filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts for a transformative cultural experience spanning multiple venues across the region.

PROJECT SCOPE

FAEM managed the complete photo-video documentation and content production strategy for Dharamshala International Film Festival. The documentation initiative encompassed live event capture across multiple venues with subsequent content production and delivery including immediate deliverables, and content spanning an entire year.

DOCUMENTATION TEAM

The festival documentation required a highly specialized and coordinated team structure. As DIFF is a volunteer-run festival, one of the crucial aspects of the job was to shortlist the most competent team that are also great collaborators. This included finding the right photographers, videographers, photo and video editors. Making sure their equipment matches well, in order to retain a strong style, look and feel in all the contents posted. More so, their talent, work ethics and team work complement each other. 

Out of over 200 applications, 60 were selected for interviews. After further selection, the  final team consisted of:

THE CHALLENGE

Orchestrating a large-scale, multi-venue documentation operation while maintaining quality content delivery, managing diverse creative assets across simultaneous filming sessions, and executing a complex post-production pipeline with year-long deliverables.

  • Capturing multiple simultaneous events across 4 geographically dispersed screening theaters, 1 panel discussion venue. 

  • Maintaining consistent quality standards across diverse content types (panel discussions, interviews, screenings, performances).

  • Delivering real-time content for social media and press releases while maintaining editorial standards.

  • Managing a team of 22+ personnel (core team + videographers + photographers + editors) with clear workflows and quality control.

  • Producing 30+ edited video deliverables spanning 12 months post-festival.

  • Ensuring technical excellence in audio-video capture and post-production in varied venue environments.
